The Versatile Body

This Class integrates elements from a variety of different and complimentary movement techniques in order to awaken the widest range of a dancer´s movement abilities for free and joyful dancing. Elements from floorwork, Kungfu and gymnastics (acrobatics) are used in the class to awaken the use of body weight, momentum, strength and stamina. The classes include coordination games that challenge the body and mind; Guided improvisations, that aim at opening channels to experience physical engagement through senses and states of mind; and vice versa. In the second part of the class other components like sharpness, efficiency, precision, isolation and musicality are a further focus for more detailed body awareness. Every class ends by learning a movement phrase and/or structured improvisation that incorporates all the elements that have been worked on; accompanied by some nice music, placing emphasis on the importance of playfulness and joy of performing in our daily training for individual creativity. It is recommended to come the whole week in order to get the fullest out of it.
